Hardly a surprise, of course. Even the leftist CNN appears to have had enough of the Obama campaign's chronic fibs. Here CNN debunks the Obama ad about the guy working for GST Steel, who connects Bain Capital's purchase of GST Steel with his wife's later death from cancer.
And even CNN's debunking barely scratches the surface.
The guy worked for GST Steel for 30 years, he said.
Did anyone notice that before Bain Capital ever came around, GST Steel's previous owner was shutting it down? And when Bain Capital came in, they cancelled the shutdown, spent a ton of money on renovations and improvements to the company, and kept it running an additional 8 years?
Did I miss where this steel worker thanked Mitt Romney for giving him an additional 8 years of employment (and Health Care coverage), that he wouldn't have had if Romney and Bain hadn't bought the company?
Funny, I don't recall hearing that mentioned in the ad.
Will these Democrats ever stop lying, distorting, and twisting the truth?
Is it November yet?
When I saw this ad I thought that there was more to the story. My thought was his gripe shouldn't be with Bain but with the system itself. Companies come and go, having your health insurance linked to an employer is risky and always has been. It's not always reliable and will break down at the worst time, like when you need it the most.
Please - I'd sprain my eyes if I rolled them appropriately hard enough to react to that statement.
Romney has released ad after ad that are verifiable lies. Not even distortions - like the ad back in the spring where he took Obama quoting somebody, and played it off as his own words without the context.
Then the "You didn't build that" fiasco, which was also DEMONSTRABLY false.
Now the welfare ad, which is beyond ridiculous, considering that Romney, as governor, ASKED for the very bill that Obama passed. Not to mention that it doesn't get rid of the work requirement at all, as Romney asserts it does.
Romney is a liar. His campaign is a disaster. And poll numbers keep inching towards Obama.
The truth shall set you free.... try it some time...
You also forgot to mention, that what happened to this man's family, was YEARS after the plant shut down. Not a few weeks, not a couple of months, 5-6 years later.....
..and his wife had a job which was insuring her, so her husbands job loss was not a factor....
I thought I knew what dirty politics were, but after watching the dirty, low class obama followers work, they have sunk to a new low..
A Mitt Romney spokesperson offered an unusual counterattack Wednesday to an ad in which a laid-off steelworker blames the presumptive GOP nominee for his family losing health care: If that family had lived in Massachusetts, it would have been covered by the former governor’s universal health care law.
“To that point, if people had been in Massachusetts, under Governor Romney’s health care plan, they would have had health care,” Andrea Saul, Romney’s campaign press secretary, said during an appearance on Fox News. “There are a lot of people losing their jobs and losing their health care in President [Barack] Obama’s economy.”
