Does anyone know the short-hand term for the merger of government and big business?

That's essentially what the president is proposing now:

Obama: Let's repeat auto industry success - POLITICO.com

I'm not certain this is in keeping with the American tradition. What do you think?

LOL, well if Solyndra or GM is an example. The short-hand term for merger of government and big business is FAILURE.

Obama may be using Japan as a model. When Mazda nearly went bankrupt because of the rotary engines, the government of Japan bailed them out. Mazda did do a comeback and proof of that is the number of them you see on the road today. But, that does not mean that every bailout is a success story. In the current economy, if he keeps bailing out business, he'll have to keep on bailing them out. What he NEEDS to do is bail out the taxpayer, and I don't see that coming. Instead, I see the taxpayer getting more and more of the burden.
