^I don't think 'despises' is the right word here. But he certainly has no regard for their beliefs when he insists that they hire insurance companies that must provide free contraception.
Let's not forget - the Democrats ran on the Ryan budget in 2010. Seniors supported Republicans by the largest margin in political history for a mid-term election. The 2012 version is revamped, particularly with the Medicare reforms. I have a feeling that, with effective messaging, seniors will still be a solid Republican voting block in November.
