How dare any poll actually not have Obama up by 10 or more!

Does Gallup, which today has very similar results, also just poll the RNC? Does Politico/GWU/Battleground, which put out a poll showing a tie just yesterday, also poll just the RNC? Does JZ Analytics, which also put out a poll showing a tie just yesterday, also just poll the RNC? Does CBS/NYT, which had Romney ahead in their last poll, also just poll the RNC?

As far as Rasmussen - yes, they do seem to lean to the right and I don't trust any one poll by itself. Having said that, they were tied for most accurate pollster in 2008.

What the poll is showing is the typical bounce that naming a VP provides the candidate. Below are historic bounces,:

So there’s something of a consensus in the polls, showing a net gain for Mr. Romney of between zero and two percentage points since the announcement of Mr. Ryan.
