Well, lets hope they have inserted into the bill, ways for people who lack mobility to be able to easily obtain a photo ID if they do not have one yet. And let's hope they do a good job of informing the people how and where they can obtain an ID.
This is good news! All of those poor, poverty stricken people who receive government benefits can now rejoice in being part of what is the course of normal affairs in America: Showing your ID for anything and everything that matters! Welcome to the club flunkies!!

I agree. I'm all for requiring ID for voting, but I think the ID should be provided at no cost, and the law should be implemented slowly. There should be a grace period.

Are ID's not required for government handouts? If not, then why not? That's an outrage. If so, then who are all these poor people without identification and how are they eating, paying bills, etc?

Plenty of voter help groups that help them register and take them to the polls to vote.
Now they can help them get their IDs as well.
It really shouldn't be the issue that it has become.
