Then when he is called out for lying about his mother's death, he just keeps lying about it - he doesn't try to set the record straight...because he is lying about his mother's death for political gain.
He didn't lie about his mother's death. He may have misrepresented the way the insurance companies treated her. Big difference.
But I do understand that people who just want to smear Obama will lie about him - a lot.
So another words, you are fine with Obama lying about how his mother died during a struggle to keep her insurance, because it helped his argument for passing Obamacare???
What kind of a person lies about the particulars of his mother's death for political gain?! and keeps doing it when proven to be dishonest on the topic?! -- just another run of the mill Chicago politician that is who...
President Obama’s willingness to falsify the facts about a personal tragedy in order to make a political point speaks volumes about not only his cynicism but also his character. It’s important to remember that this is no misunderstanding but rather a bald-faced lie. Here’s what Obama said during one of his debates with Republican opponent John McCain:
For my mother to die of cancer at the age of 53 and have to spend the last months of her life in the hospital room arguing with insurance companies because they’re saying that this may be a pre-existing condition and they don’t have to pay her treatment, there’s something fundamentally wrong about that.
It is true that Ms. Dunham did have a separate dispute about disability insurance but this had nothing to do with pre-existing conditions. Nor did it affect her fight for her life. And given that her son acted as her attorney, there’s no doubt he was not ignorant of the truth of the matter.
Additionally, the NY Times has even been trying to get a response to the evidence that the insurance did in fact pay for her cancer treatment and never disputed her cancer claims, let alone dispute her cancer as a preexisting condition.....Obama has refused to reply to the NY Times as per his "mischaracterizations" (aka lies) for political gain.
The Washington Post gives Obama 3 out of 4 Pinocchios for his lie about his mom battling health insurance with cancer in his famous "The Road We've Traveled" infomercial.
