This letter feels like the set-up before the knock out punch. They knew the Romney camp would reject it out of hand, but they have made a reasonable, public request on the record. My guess is that the Obama campaign already has the goods on Romney, but we probably won't see it until after the convention, when the GOP is stuck with Mitt as their candidate.
Either way Obama wins on the issue. If Willard keeps hiding his take returns, Obama can slam him all throughout the campaign season that he has something to hide.
If he does show his returns, it will likely show he has paid little, if anything in taxes, where Obama can lay the hammer down that Willard is a crony hiding assets overseas and wants even more tax breaks to goons like him.
Wrong--it's been expected of presidential candidates for the last 40 years. Since it's political suicide to refuse to release them, no sane campaign would make that choice unless they CANT release them. I'm guessing it probably has something to do with that amnesty program for illegal swiss bank accounts in 2009. Does he think people are stupid?
Romney doesn't even know for sure, he will make it past Tampa. Why would he release tax records, unless he was for sure the nominated GOP candidate.
The right wing trolls got their birth certificate, it's time for Willard to show his papers.
