Paul Ryan is a flip-flopper. Wanted stimulus when Bush was in office, opposed it because it was proposed by Obama. Can this Republican ticket get any more pathetic? Jesus Christ.

To quote Ryan in 2002
Quote:
"We've got to get the engine of economic growth growing again because we now know, because of recession, we don't have the revenues that we wanted to, we don't have the revenues we need, to fix Medicare, to fix Social Security, to fix these issues. We've got to get Americans back to work. Then the surpluses come back, then the jobs come back. That is the constructive answer we're trying to accomplish here on, yes, a bipartisan basis. I urge members to drop the demagoguery and to pass this bill to help us work together to get the American people back to work and help those people who've lost their jobs,"
So, this didn't apply in 2009 Why not? It wouldn't have anything to do with McConnell's #1 priority of wanting to deny President Obama a second term, would it? Republicans putting party before country.

This is just becoming too sad.

I'm neither a Democrat nor a Republican ( personally a Libertarian not of the fake libertarian tea party variety) but the Republicans have fielded complete clowns for the past 2 presidential elections. It's literally a clown show out there. The last time we got an old man who's borderline senile and a no name/nobody made for TV character. This time it's a robber baron figure (do you really want to field a guy with a net worth in the hundreds of millions during these economic times? It's like fielding a German Candidate in '48) and a frat boy in over his head who's greatest accomplishment seems to be that he "works out".

This isn't new. Both parties are full of hypocrites. Democrats turn into pacifists when Republicans are in office and Republicans turn into budget hawks when Democrats are in office.

100% correct, HOWEVER!!, when you're country is sinking into the abyss. Do you put party politics before country, or country before politics, Theres no denying we are in a very unique situation that happens once in a blue moon. So what do you do?

mitch mcconnels sentiment sums it up nicely. And that can only result in??

Who really cares for the American people and its country when SHTF??
It aint the self serving republicans, that coming from a NON liberal/libertarian.

It's quite obvious that it's politics before country. Has been since the bottom fell out in 2007.
The last united front was in passing TARP and that was only after a closed door session with Paulsen.

Since then both sides have only come together to extend Patriot Act expirations.

Eh...I'll take divided parties for now. When the parties come together it's usually to screw us such as TARP or the "Patriot" Act.

No excuses can now be made for Ryan's absolute Hypocrisy.
Ryan obviously has a short memory or hopes the American Citizens do.
The bit i love about Ryans 100% support for the stimulus package is where he says ...............................
"In recessions unemployment lags on well after a recovery has taken place," ........... yet Ryan is now saying with much gusto the opposite andthat our job recovery is too slow................... speaking out of both ides of his mouth again.......... no wonder Romney picked him............... they are both "etch a sketch" politicians with no ideas that they really believe, just a con job on the American public to get into the Whitehouse.
