Some states have instituted funding equalization. Colorado has. Several states fully fund education.

Oh brother, do you have it a$$ backwards. It's education that pulls a society out of poverty and all of the negative things that it proliferates.

This is who and what Romney is...a scumbag puppet fior the douche bag right wing.
NYC, read post 14 regarding money spent in your area. Only an idiot would think that the fix for our deplorable education system is more money. We have been throwing more money at education for 50 years and watching student's rankings fall, in comparison to the rest of the world, with ever additional dollar spent. Of course someone who uses foul language wouldn't be able to understand that.
We need teachers to be accountable for their performance on the job, like every other profession. If they aren't, the should be fired. Parents should have a choice of which schools they send their kids to. This would promote competition. The poor performing schools should be closed. Since often the private schools are the best performing schools, parents should be able to get vouchers, for the money being spent per student, so they can send their kids to the private school.

I work in education and I think there is a lot of things that could get cut and reformed, but I also think there is a lot we could spend on as well. We need a centrist approach to radical reform of our education system. I still think the federal government should play a role in that aspect.

Town I work out is in the lowest 15% of spending per student and the highest 95% of performance. Education sucess dosnt take money , its takes parents who actualy give a damn.

Congratulations!

Finally someone stated what the problem is

Unfortunately, the partisan Dems will insist that lack of spending will BY ITSELF make schools worse and partisan Reps will insist that cuts are the deciding factor

Both sides are failing America with their ignorance and failure to even say what the problem is (like you did) much less try and address it

So, Einstein, let me ask you this....... why is it that Utah, Nebraska, Iowa, N Dakota spend a tiny amount in comparison to say, NYC per student and have much better schools, grad rates etc.

Doh.......

When did Obama start handing out government loans? I think you are confused in thinking that offering to help with payment of loans is what they do. Now that I think about it he did promise to give young people free college education so what he did in trying for this must be what you want to talk about.

Bush's NCLB was one of the biggest mistakes we ever made. The federal government got involved in education and started throwing money at the states for that purpose when the states should have been left in control. It is now time for the states to take over, once again.

It's quality of teachers and subject testing. Nothing in RTT has to do with class size.

That's Obama's policy today..RTT with more testing and putting the blame on teachers for kids failing.
Nothing in RTT deals with class size.

Class size is determined at a state level.
Well, yeah, but as they say in that video it is class size that the left thinks about. When the head man speaks his crap all the left leaners, like bob, tend to believe every word he speaks.
