That's precisley why he wasn't.

His statement: " Joe Scarborough: I’m tired of Republicans being the ‘Stupid Party’ "

He's clearly speaking for himself, not the RNC.

And Joe's got plenty of company. There are millions of us who've voted GOP in the past who are sickened by the mindless mob they've become.

Joe Scarborough: I’m tired of Republicans being the ‘Stupid Party’

Apparently this Scarborough hasn't been paying too much attention to the Democrat party. Talk about stupid.

Actually, you haven't seen his show then. He talks about what Democrats aren't doing on the budget, all the time. He talks about small government solutions to the budget, and how things must be cut in order to balance the budget. He talks about how he thought a 400 billion dollar deficit was crazy, now we are trillions in debt.

But because he doesn't "toe the line" of crazy conservative on abortion and war, he is written off.

This is why the Republican party has a negative view overall by the public, they are driving out the "moderates" who used to be considered the whackos because they were so conservative, if they don't believe everything the party tells them is gospel.

And its why they have a real chance of losing this Presidential election, even running against a President with a bad record.

Thats what Joe is saying, its stupid to be this "my way or the highway", trying to define rape? Seriously?

Basically he is conservative on fiscal matters everything else he is a liberal. He is trying to make good with media circles which are overwhelmingly to the Left. So however he conducted himself when he was in congress in the 90s is quite different than now.

Most times his show has no conservatives except Dan Senor every once in awhile. Harold Ford actually comes off conservative or at least somewhat sane when the panel is exclusively made up of Democrats which is about 90% of the time.

Conservative used to stand for someone who believed in small government, in all aspects. This means no intervention into personal liberty.

Suddenly, now conservative has been stolen by Republicans who want to enforce a religious dogma of moral issues, and don't offer a real solution on the economy.

Republicans aren't small government, and a "conservative" label of that party is misplaced.

Why can't it just be: Republicans are against big government. Democrats are against big business.

Presumably, there are more conservative theist Republicans who home school their youth than Democrats, and so don't want their tax dollars supporting public schools, and so tend to be less supportive of big government...but are there really enough home schooled students for this to be a factor?

Why did the Republican party turn into the anti-abortion, anti-stem cell research, and anti-gay marriage party too? These three stances necessitate desiring bigger government in these instances.

The problem with the Republican party is that they aren't against big government, as much as they'd like to say that. They just want to enforce their view of "big government" where they like it.

We don't have a small government party, except maybe the libertarian, and they aren't a "real" party.

You are confusing 'doing stupid things' with celebrating stupidity.

Celebrating stupidity is the number one trait of the contemporary Republican party that makes me run screaming to Independentville.
