There are over 77 million Catholics in the United States.

The American Life League reported:
Between August 15-19 of this year, American Life League commissioned a nationwide telephone survey of 900 self-identified Catholic registered voters.

Surveying 900 out of 77 million says absolutely nothing.

But he isn't really. The Republican base (defined as "having or showing a contemptible, mean-spirited, or selfish lack of human decency") is too wedded, too committed, and too stupid to notice the slight of hand.

Romney could declare himself an atheist, change his name to Hugo Chavez, and promise to steal every American's first-born child, and as long as he was heading the GOP ballot the Republican base (as in "having or showing a contemptible, mean-spirited, or selfish lack of human decency") would loyally vote for Chavez the Godless Baby-Thief.

While I will admit the abortion issue is a big problem I also think the economy is a bigger problem.
From that perspective, you are absolutely right.
