His point is that the demographics for the southern strategy are a dying breed. They might make an impact in this election but not in 16 or 20 years.

Billy Bob, meet T Rex, you'll be joining him.

You know nothing about me, but we both know what assumption does. Also, George Will is about as relevant as Bill Krystol these days.

It's laughable to hear all this talk of 'dying breed,' 'graying of the GOP,' etc. Paul Ryan, age 42, would be one of the youngest VP's ever, and now represents the Tea Party movement.

The two most powerful ideative forces on the left are 1) denial; 2) wishful thinking.

Burn the heretic!

Whether it's Romney's general unlikability, his obvious willingness to throw his own convictions and accomplishments out the window in order to get the support of the far right, or some combination of the two, he is really taking it on the chin from the conservative pundit class these days. This, the blasting he took from the Economist this week, and numerous other critiques from other conservatives is kind of unprecedented.

Personally I think they see him pandering to the worst elements of the GOP and it makes them nervous, not only for how he may govern, but that he is further legitimizing the power of the far right over the party establishment.
