RNC 2012: For GOP delegates, it

I asked this question last week- what is it with a party that consistently turns out tickets that are upside down? This is five elections in a row now, where the #2 spot on the GOP ticket has generated all the enthusiasm from the base: Dole/Kemp, GWB/Cheney (twice), McCain/Palin, now Romney Ryan.

In light of what the Veep's job is supposed to be, this is kinda pathological, don't you think?

What IS it with the Right??? Are they AFRAID to nominate their actual standard bearer, cuz they know they'll lose 60-40?

Shouldn't that TELL them something about the direction they are going???

The last two in particular, speaks to the level of the dysfunction in the Republican party. The more moderate person gets the top-spot and then they attempt to placate the crazy fringe by nominating one from their ranks.

The Real Republicans don't like Romney....or they don't like Ryan.

What's a real Republican these days?

Ryan is a beloved figure in the GOP. Of course having him on the ticket spices things up. Not sure why this is news.
