Some Colorado delegates hold out on Mitt Romney for Ron Paul - The Denver Post

"We hold our principles and our constitution higher than our party's success," said 23-year-old Jeremy Strand, a Paul supporter from Lakewood and a delegate. "All of us would agree that he (Romney) is not exactly a Republican."
More than a dozen delegates and alternates agreed with Strand Monday during the voice vote. Those who abstained can still change their mind before the official roll call with the full slate of state delegations Tuesday.

Texans Joining Mutiny Against RNC Rule

Republicans from Texas are leading a mutiny at their national nominating convention in Tampa and fighting proposed rule changes that they say amount to a power grab by entrenched GOP operatives at the expense of grassroots activism.

The issue could explode in a floor fight Tuesday, just after Republican leaders open the first full day of the convention and turn to consider party rules. Although the process is usually a quiet one, the dispute over the new delegate selection process proposal advanced by Mitt Romney supporters threatens to shine a spotlight on the schism.

as seen and read in the Liberty Crier: what is the Liberty Crier, would you like to inform us? In otherwords don't hold your breath:: give it up...

As for those who do not want to vote for Romney, if they are from a state that has caucuses and not primaries, hey, good for them...I appreciate those who stand up for what they believe in. What I have trouble respecting on those who seem to not know when it is time to accept the facts and not keep dreaming.

Nothing new here --- the libertarian movement got started by demonstrating both that an understanding of the principles of free markets is not necessarily linked to social conservatism, and that moderation of support for those ideas, while sometimes necessary in the world of realpolitik, tends to weaken their effectiveness (when it doesn't defeat the thrust of the effort in toto).

The only real gratification here is usually the ability to say "We told you so" while the opposition throws anither tantrum.

There are reports that there aren't any Romney delegates to be found anywhere at the RNC.

This is the reason the third party crazies will never succeed, they all all a bunch of lunatics.. They would rather see a communist reelected than vote out of party. If you want some credibility, try and find a candidate that didn't come from a loony bin.. RP lost his marbles years ago, even his son won't side with him...

Chanting erupts on floor of RNC between Ron Paul and Mitt Romney supporters

Wow, the Romney delegates must be few AND desperate. They have started denying buses to pick up delegates and denying them entrance to ramrod through the rule changes so they can't VOTE. TYPICAL RNC tactics. Romney DOES NOT have enough delegates, I repeat, Romney does NOT have enough delegates to see him nominated and they are stalling and doing EVERYTHING they can to keep Ron Paul's delegates FROM VOTING. There are reports that the RNC Crime organization has been planting marijuana in delegates safes in order to try to frame them and remove them!

Those are the kind of "honest, 'holey' diaper" worshipping CROOKS American idiots are supporting! Probably because they're as big a CROOK as Romney!

Where are you hearing this from? I couldn't get your Denver Post link to open, but I checked the others.

From Ben Swann FOX 19 WXIX Cincinnati

URGENT: Saw the posts that the Virigina and Rhode Island delegations are being rerouted and not allowed at the convention to fight the rules change... and that Iowa was sent home. If you know delegates at the RNC have them send cell phone video bswann@fox19.com

Update: Delegate from Iowa submitted nomination papers signed by 22 of 28 Iowa delegates to nominate Ron Paul for the office of President. Iowa's delegation is in the house!

I'm from Nebraska, and although we only have a couple of Ron Paul people in our delegation, my understanding is that the majority of our group is opposed to the rules change just on principle--they think it's undemocratic that the candidate can just disavow any delegate that doesn't support him or her. Here's an article from one of our local papers that explains some of it a little more clearly for the people who may not be that up to date on the rules issue. This could be a really interesting 24 hours...

No they're not crazy they just have the ability to look past the smoke and mirrors and think for themselves. If you put Romney and Obama's actual voting records, personal statements, and positions side by side but didn't identify either one of them most people would assume they were running mates. There's about an inch of daylight between Obama and Romney.
