I'm not saying they have to support everything that happens AFTER the election in Congress or Senate, but you ARE expected to endorse you party's candidate, what is he supposed to do, endorse someone from another party?
What happens if your trying to affect change in your party? There is nothing wrong with not endorsing a candidate in your party if you don't agree with their policies or feel that they aren't adhering to the party's own ideology. He can chose to just not support the candidate. They are still allowed that freedom. It's not the army.
