Why does she have to be a single mom for her to have compassion for other women. Does Michelle know what it is like to be a single mom? Do you disrespect her because she hasn't been? No mother knows what any mother has been through. Why do they HAVE to be EQUAL? How can any mother be equal to another except to say they know what it is like to be a mother. This arguement is petty. If you truly feel this way, then cast your petty judgements on all first ladies, because all of them have been rich.

Yeah, I heard they even had to sell some of Mitt's stock to survive. That is rough. Honestly though, how can you say she and Mitt made their money with a straight face. Mitt's father was a CEO and governor, the man went to Cranbrook. Mitt had everything handed to him on a silver platter from super elite primary schooling to Bain connections.

The Romneys earned their money. They even earned it with help perhaps from Mitts rich dad and what is the difference whether or not family helped? You prefer to have the government assist then and only then it is honorable? What is your problem with the Romneys anyway...they too white for you? Too rich?
Actually Michelle comes from very humble background and there was never any wealth in her family. What she did have was a very supporting family and a father who managed to be the breadwinner as a city pump operator while suffering from MS.
Michelle can identify with the average struggling family, unless she forgot where she came from.
Based on the way she spends our money on frivolous vacations, I would have to say that she has forgotten her humble beginnings. Or she doesn't give a crap about us. She knows most Americans are struggling and she spends $1 million of or tax money on vacations? But, I guess that is ok since she understands what it is like to be poor. She deserves it. Whatever.

I know this is difficult to grasp but, Mrs. Romney gave a specifically crafted speech at the Republican Convention to present a specific narrative, with the specific political purpose to convince the American public that Mitt and family are real folks just like most Americans.
The criticism isn't about jealous, it isn't about envy, it is about the utterly transparent crassness of the speech.
