I would not say he's an isolationist, & if he wins, the other countries would start to like us better. His official policy is war as a last resort only. Blowing up other countries IMO makes us hated more. Both Gary & his VP, retired Calif judge Jim Gray are very kind & respectful & would likely engage in peaceful solutions if at all possible. When asked about Iran, Gary says they are not a problem now, but there is a possibility that could change. Wars are very costly in human lives & trillions spent that we don't have.

It is against Gary's policy to spend what we don't have. He says terrorists are not the #1 threat to the US, debt is. He would present to Congress a balanced budget 1st year, no more borrowing! He is very aware of the whole world, he's climbed the tallest mountain on 4 continents. He accepts several currencies from those in foreign countries who wish to contribute. On a Google+ meet-up, he even had a young man from the UK asking questions. Gary will talk to anyone. You might still be able to get into an internet town hall where you could ask him to expand on national security positions. Best wishes.

Default Gary Johnson got 13% in PPP poll 3 weeks ago

Given that Libertarians now draw from both potential Dem and GOP voters, I doubt that Johnson will be a spoiler. I guess he could in NM.

According to this the LP is now 'touting that possibility.'
Libertarian Party eyes spoiler role in 2012 race | Fox News

This seems mind-bogglingly dumb to me. As a libertarian-oriented guy, the last thing I want is Obama back in office.
Johnson wasn't failing to take advantage. The various crooks deciding who could be in the debates would only allow him in two, despite him scoring higher in polls than some that were always invited. Gary is not for sale to special interest groups, so they did all they could to put him out of the picture.

He wouldn't agree to unlimited wars, deficit spending, & he feels we must use the Constitution again and give individuals their rights back. He favors re-legalization of cannabis ("marijauna") which has 126 medical uses and cannabis oil can cure cancer. O & R seem to prefer we die to protect profits.

Bob Barr seemed to me he was just another rich guy who didn't want to pay taxes. I can't remember if he ever talked about restoring our rights or went out seeking voter opinions. Many Libertarians said Bob Barr hijacked the party.

A vote for freedom is never wasted. Gary can win if the people hear of him. I don't know who said he can't win. Wikipedia says Obama, Romney, Gary Johnson , Dr. Jill Stein (Green) could all get enough votes in Electoral College to win. Gary is for the 100% equally. He has no hate. Good personality from this very frugal guy. TV ads are possible, but he's paying lawyers to stop Reps from denying him ballot access in several states.

Default Glad you prefer Johnson

Unpurchased Gary Johnson vs the purchased Obama or Romney. Constitutional rights vs the NDAA Obama & Romney like: Authorizes 100 years in prison for anything, no charges needed. Gary won't support that.

Obama & Romney favor Patriot Act allowing warrantless spying in us 24/7. Gary is opposed.

Obama & Romney favoring special interest groups desires that may cost trillions we don't have. Gary doesn't give special rewards to special interest groups, so that would likely save us a few trillion.

Probably not...I like much of what he stands for but I have a problem with some of his views, serious problems for that matter. Add to this, he doesn't stand a snow balls chance in Hell of even getting 10% of the vote I don't think.

Somethings I like about him: fair, hard-working, abnormally honest, kind (no hate for anyone), smart, researches the issues, explains policies & talks about the benefits, was loved by most as 2 term guv of NM.

Even though he explains issues positions with a fair amount of detail, what is on his website is still the condensed version of his thoughts. Also, about many issues, when people say he is for them, it may be a belief of what is good for most, not what he would choose for his life & he is not a control freak. His positions of "for" sometimes means he feels Fed govt must be neutral on personal choices. So no control at all, or controlled by state. He always sides with the majority, but in a way that doesn't harm most others.

If you need more details/clarification, look at his website. There might still be internet town halls where you can RSVP to get time to speak. Best wishes.

I missed Leno, but read Ron Paul said he's quitting for 2012 to rest up for 2016!

Over half of the Ron Paulites are expected to vote for Gary Johnson.

ACLU & NRA gave Gary Johnson the best rating.

He can't win.

You might as well start a thread titled "Roseanne Barr discussion".

Gary Johnson, why wouldn't you vote for him? Have you even read where he stands on the issues and his track record? When i put his name in a search box, up comes about 60 million results. He has over one million people following him on google.

Roseanne Barr was just accepted by the Peace and Freedom party (socialists). Expectations are she might place 5th.

Gary may do some TV ads as some people may not have internet, or are using computers for some other
purpose than following politics. He ran 2 weeks of TV ads running as unknown & became NM guv.

The "resting up for 2016" was a joke. Ron Paul has no intention of doing anything
but retiring from "running for office".

I was not surprised Ron Paul did not endorse anyone on Jay Leno. That's Ron

What Gary Johnson is doing is representing the Libertarian platform. If you believe in
that - there can be no other party.... I'm glad Johnson came out of the proverbial
libertarian closet, and I hope others follow. We make sense - cents

Gary has a record (not that kind of record) - he understands what a "surplus" should mean.
And, what deficits do not.

Here's the only kind of ''record'' I'm interested in, when it pertains to Libertarians -->

You know - folks should start to listen to the Libertarian Party.
The other two parties have made a mess of it, our debt is exploding,
and if it does not change...

I think the Democrats and Republicans have HAD it! We've seen their true colors and they don't give a SH$t what the grassroots members of their parties think as we have all seen in the way they pre-scripted their conventions paying NO ATTENTION to actual delegates votes.

I think the two major parties ought to become the Constitution party and the Libertarian party. I could live with the values of either of those parties and they are both much more in alignment with what the Founding Fathers intended for the country. Maybe there could be a FREEDOM party and an Independent party (that we already have) as well. That wouldn't hurt. But the Dems and Repubs are status quo LOW LIFES as far as I'm concerned and need to exit stage right (and left).

For this election though I think more people will be writing in Ron Paul including a lot of Democrats and Independents that didn't vote in the primaries. I'm writing in Ron Paul unless he comes out and endorses someone.
