A quarter of a million dollars a year is Middle Income!?!
That's what Romney told Stephanopoulos.

Sheesh - I used to think I was middle to upper income. Now I see I am really low income.

For a family of say, 4 people, both parents employed $200, 000 is at the top of middle income, but yes, he is right. Many think middle income range (depending on family size) can be anywhere from $75,000 a year to $250,000. The exception would be retired people or kids out of college, just starting out. Have you checked what some careers are making today? You may not be anywhere close to $200,000 and I may not be, but do you think, $200,000 puts a person in the upper class group? Heck our younger granddaughter, when she and her husband got married (she was just out of college, he was a heating and a/c specialist) were in the $100,000 ball park...

Seriously! you must really be out of touch if you think making 200-250 thousands dollars a year is not wealthy. It's no wonder you want Romney to win , you probably make close to that yourself. I guess by your standards, making a 100-150 thousand a year is poor then and I thought that was doing well, geesh you rich people amaze me sometimes.

I live on Long Island (one of the highest COL areas in the country). $200k is a little more then double the median household income here. While it might not be considered wealthy its certainly comfortably upper middle class. The idea the middle class encompasses those who are in the top 5% is absurd.

A household whose income is $250,000 a year is above 98% of all United States households. How the hell is that the middle of anything?

So you don't consider what you yourself consider to be upper middle class to be middle class?!?!?

Do you think people making $200,000-$250,000 per year have live-in maids and butlers, go on vacations to Fiji every two months, fly on private planes, etc. ?

BTW - Romney said that $200,000-$250,000 is the upper end of middle income. That would be correct. A person/couple making $200,000 per year has a lot more in common with one making $100,000 a year or even $50,000 a year than one making $10 million a year.

Try living on Long Island in a home that is 1600 sq ft , 60 years old, and paying 14,500 in property taxes & $4000 to commute to work. You better be making $200,000 a year
