"He starts off with a huge number. These are people who pay no income tax. Forty-seven percent of Americans pay no income tax. So our message of low taxes doesn't connect. So he'll be out there talking about tax cuts for the rich. I mean, that's what they sell every four years. And so my job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them that they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."
The Telegraph: British conservatives register their views:
Damian Thompson: "Remind me, someone: how did the GOP end up with this idiot as their candidate?"
Tim Stanley: "Mitt Romney – you are a very frustrating nominee. The economy is unhealthy and the administration’s foreign policy is in doubt. And yet you have muddled what should be a predictable victory in November with gaffe, counter-gaffe and – now – a pre-gaffe."
His views pretty well fall in line with those of us who pay taxes for the other half. Sounds like someone I'd like to vote for. I wish he would have taken it a step further... If you are dependent on the state, you shouldn't be allowed to vote. The demise of any democracy... When the people figure out they can vote themselves "freebies"...
