I could have sworn that marriages fail regardless of political leanings. Sorry, but that simply seems like a cheap shot hat has shed any consideration of reality.

Perhaps, but the assertion I was commenting on was that "people on the left seem to view the institution of marriage as disposable" - which has absolutely nothing to do with a particular demographic's voting preferences.
In what world does 54% translate into "all married people?" That's a tiny bit over half. It actually kind of surprises me that Romney doesn't have a larger chunk of married voters, because his supporters tend to be overwhelmingly old and white--a group that tends to have higher rates of marriage. Trying to make the case that the REASON that people support Romney is because they're married (vs. being old and white) is like trying to make the case that dogs and whales and mice are all mammals, therefore they must all bark, eat cheese, and live in the ocean.
In other words, the left has a lot in common with half the people that were vying for the Republican nominatin in the first place.
