As to the 47%....a family of 4 with a household income of about $50K pays no income taxes, primarily due to the Earned Income Tax Credit which Ford established, back when. The median household income is about $50K.
Retired/disabled folk living off of SS do not pay income taxes.
Less than 2% of all households receive more than 50% of their income from Government Welfare Programs.

Actually, that is the result of means testing. Buffett collects a salary of only $100,000 so he can keep himself OUT of the higher tax brackets.
