Sorry, Fact Check says otherwise. In fact, it looks like Obama had more flubs than Romney.
Romney was well prepared and the claims he made were ready to be substantiated. But, the Teleprompter in Chief failed to call him out on anything because he had no idea what to say. There was nobody feeding him lines. He was exposed for what he is, a speech giver, professional huckster, a puppet and a squatter in the White House.

Romney, can't be any worse than the last four years.
I think the Chrysler and GM workers would disagree with you. And the future workers at the new plants being built in Michigan. And the future American workers who will benefit from Barack cracking down on outsourcing jobs.

We could have been in a severe depression but now we are seeing the economy turn around. I personally think the next 4 years are going to be fantastic and an opportunity for many people. The housing market is turning around pretty fast. New housing permits in my suburb of 70,000 are already estimated at doubling next year. The houses in my neighborhood are selling in days for more than the asking price.

I give Barack a lot of credit for keeping it all together and moving us back to a more common sense path than the ponzi scheme/casino that the republicans would turn the White House back into.

Give the job back to white folks so they can continue the war mongering and the fear promoting of others and go back to the family and raise them accordingly.
He's been phoning in his responsibilities for at least two years now, and he phoned in this debate also.

I almost feel sorry for him.....but I will instead reserve that sympathy for any idiot whom actually votes for him.

There wasn't anybody feeding him lines? Are you sure?

I was fairly certain that his earpiece led to his handlers and when he closed his eyes, he was listening to them.

I may have been mistaken, however.

Obama and his cronies
Just wondering, do you guys think Romney has "cronies"? Or is it JUST Obama?

I thought PO was off his game a bit, he seemed tired to me. I have seen him speak off the cuff (not speeches) and I know he can be more persuasive than he was last night. He didn't have the usual fire. Sure the Republicans want to say he had a defeated demeanor, but I don't think that's accurate.

Romney came off as an ass. An interrupting, let me get the last word in even though it's not my turn, smirking ass. He's delusional if he thinks he can now convince the middle class that he cares if we have good paying jobs. We remember how he laid off workers, piled companies with debt, and raided pension funds, but still made a nice tidy profit for himself and his cronies. I'm sure he knows all about the tax ramifications of moving jobs to China.

I also call B.S. on his commitment to public education, when what he said clearly indicated he's in favor of vouchers. It also shows that he has no concept of how to make schools better. Just give parents the option to go somewhere else (with a voucher)? Sorry, it doesn't work that way. I live in a county that has the craziest public school system issues precisely because given the choice, parents are pushing in and overcrowding some schools while others are at 50% or less capacity. You can't just abandon those schools. It's a very complicated issue that I'm quite sure Romney doesn't understand because he has never attended or had his children attend public school.

My DH is one of the undecided and he is still uncommitted after the debate. From PO we heard the same thing we've been hearing for 4 years. From Romney, he failed to convince the middle class that he all of a sudden cares about us. He was very vague on cutting deductions and loopholes, and there are a lot of those (home mortgage interest deduction, child tax credit) that benefit the middle class, and would amount to a tax increase if taken away. So he can't be vague on that. He just can't. Besides that I think his and his running mate's underlying intentions are all too clear. No debate rhetoric can change what months of campaigning have illustrated.

And don't forget the media wants, no NEEDS, a horse race. They would say anything to give Romney a leg up at this point because if there's no contest, there's no ratings. So I don't trust pundits. They're biased, yes. Will say whatever it takes to get the ratings up.

I call a draw. PO was off his game and Romney was an overbearing ass who lied repeatedly.

You may well be the only liberal on this forum who actually believes that Barack Obama was winning or won the debate.

This is precisely the kind of cult of personality worship that I rail about all the time. Some of you really do live in a dream world don't you? You absolutely cannot accept that Barack Obama is not the Messiah that you thought he was, can you?

The election is far from over but tonite the nation discovered the emperor has no clothes and it was pretty jarring to see. I actually felt bad for Obama. I hope he does better next time around.
