Just imagine how good the economy could be with leadership that puts jobs ahead of ideology. Hopefully we'll find out soon.
To be honest, I disagree with you at least slightly. Had we juiced the economy with more stimulus we definitely would have had more jobs created. But it would only have masked and perhaps prolonged the underlying condition of over leveraging that was the root source of the collapse. We had to go through the pain of de-leveraging or inflating our way out of the mess Bush made. The Reps in trying to destroy America actually helped in that the recovery now is based on real growth rather than growth in government spending. I am just tickled though that we have seen the recovery taking hold at this point in time, because it means that Obama will be back in and the horrible economic policy of wealth transfer to the wealthy that Romney envisions will never come to pass.

We cannot sustain our way of life based on a predominantly consumption economy, and we cannot compete in a production economy because our wages are ridiculously high in comparison to other production based countries. Imagine trying to get elected on THAT platform.
Vis a vis bolded.

I do feel that the market fundamentals are much better now than in 2007. Consumer debt is lower, home prices have already tanked, and we are on an upward trend again. The market reflects corporate profits, which are very high, so even though the typical person is still struggling, our big companies are doing pretty well.

Yes, Romney's horrible philosophy will not interfere with the future of poverty, joblessness, and despair that Obama's agenda will inevitably produce.
