I was about to post his victory, but according to our paper this morning it was nearly that percentage. I am not doubting you, I am just wondering. I didn't read the entire story, but the caption did say,the race was very close, 10 points is certainly not what I call close.

Chavez said that if he were an American, he would vote for obama. He also said he thought that obama would vote for him. Interesting endorsement obama has there.

Socialism isn't being rejected by the majority of Americans (remember South Americans consider themselves Americans too). You can count as proud Socialists Brazils President Dilma Rousseff, Argentinia's Peronist President Kirchner add to that Peru's President Toledo, Bolivia's President Morales and Mr Chavez in Venezula. We shouldn't forget Uraguay, Ecador, Guyana, Nicaragua, Jamaica and Cuban all socialist. Add to that the worker and union freindly Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) in Mexico. Also the New Democrats did quite well in Canada during the last election .
