He seems to be the only one on the left so far who has said we need another option besides Hillary.

Blue gov of a redstate is impressive, means he is popular and centrist.

I think were dismissing some people like him and just assuming that Hillary has it wrapped up, which I don't think is smart.

anyways, what do you guys think of schweitzer?

He looks good on paper but let's face it, he's not going to win a presidential election. But if he plays it right, he may find himself on the ticket.

I think he is too smart to run for President, just as he seems to be too smart to run for Max's Senate seat, now that Max has shown himself to be smart enough to retire.
By the way, Brian is the FORMER Governor of Montana, not the current Governor.

Actually, I would just LOVE to see Brian on the steps of the Capitol in D.C. with his VETO branding iron and a propane heater, burning VETO into bills that he doesn't like! Sure, it was grandstanding, but lots of us Montanans loved it!
All in all, he just might be a pretty good President. IMO, he did all right as governor!

It doesn't matter who runs on the Democratic ticket, HIllary is the candidate.

It's a shame too for the Democrats. Several candidates exist on the left that would probably be ok for the job, but the media has a big ol' hard on for Hillary...so it's hers for the taking.

Hillary is the biggest political fabrication in American history behind the current POTUS...but lets face it...the left LOVES media darlings.

I'd like to know who they are.

I pretty much agree with everything you are saying except, remember 2007/08. Who would have thought Hillary would have problems? She did a couple of serious meltdowns, this could happen again and she could be left out to dry. I don't think she will be a shoe in Like so many others think.

I have seen him interviewed on PBS and he made a lot of sense. I like him a lot. I wouldn't put him on the left, though he may be compared to Clinton. I would vote for him, or Elizabeth Warren. I guess she is not going to run from what I've read.

Nobody named Schweitzer will ever be President. Not only is the name too long for a President (think about it, we haven't had a long named President since Eisenhower) but it defies the "i" comes before "e" rule making him totally ineligible.

Plus, the national news media will refuse to go to Montana. They've heard of it but they aren't really sure where it is so they'll whine about him, refuse to cover him, make dumb cowboy and blue sky jokes and you know, fine tooth comb their data looking for Montana serial killers they can compare him to.

Schweitzer was great for Montana, but Montana is a state with a low population, an economy that's low, and property values that are either nothing or cost as much as Malibu beachfront. It's also huge, harsh, and has very little comparisons outside a neighboring state or two.

I don't think Schweitzer's leadership or experience as a politician would work well in D.C.

However, I'm an Idahoan, and Idaho is a lot like Montana. I'd vote for him in a split second.

I'm not familiar with him, but do you folks think he has what it takes to go up against the Clinton machine in the primaries? Isn't Baucus retiring? Why doesn't he run for his senate seat in 2014?
