I read somewhere that the Libertarian party would receive greater funding for the next election. Any truth to this?

I believe the magic number is 5% of the vote, which would a) get the party public funding of IIRC $90 million, and b) gain them a seat in the next presidential debates.

Good enough reason to vote for Johnson if you ask me.

It means they wake up and say "I just had this really cool dream that Gary Johnson won more than 5% of the election! Darn, I wish it wasn't just a dream!"

A place on the debate stage, a real difference in the candidates, and full funding from the federal government.

All good things.

Ron Paul could have easily won 5%. Too bad he didn't run as a Libertarian

I'm considering voting for Johnson simply to try to get a third party funding.

If he gets 5% I predict Ron Paul will run as Libertarian in 2016. I'm not a libertarian but if he (Ron Paul) were on the ballot I would give him serious consideration.

Gary Johnson sounds like a male porn star. I don't think you could find 5% who, even after weeks of saturating the airwaves with advertising, could pick Gary Johnson out of a group of used car salesmen from Albuquerque.
