Those who doubt the polls showing a slight but consistent lead for Obama in the Buckeye State would point to the empty seats scattered around the upper-level of Nationwide Arena. (The facility holds 18,500 for Columbus Blue Jackets NHL games.) Four years ago, after all, Obama was easily filling venues larger than that as he rode a wave of enthusiasm to a 4.6 percent victory here over John McCain.

RCP called it "scattered empty seats" but the pictures show just how empty it was. Remember, this facility only holds 18,500. And he had two huge stars with him:

The OP's link only mentioned empty seats, not how many people attended. The same number of people attended the Columbus rally as attended Mitt's when Meat Loaf Performed.

Standing on stage before 15,500 at Nationwide Arena, the president acknowledged that the change he promised four years ago hasn't come as quickly as he and others had hoped.
