I think Ohio will still be a battleground but we are now up to nearly 24-28 years without the GOP winning in presidential elections in MI, PA, WI, IL and even longer in MN.

So it appears the GOP needs to write these areas off as failed socialist enclaves and gear national policy towards OH, VA and FL for the foreseeable future.

To that end immigration reform needs to be resolved
Strident opposition to social issues needs to end. If women want to kill their unborn babies so be it.

The Rust Belt votes for the Dems. The rest of the rural Midwest is solidly red (except from Iowa)

Virginia and Florida will be permanent socialist enclaves soon enough.

Yes....and America doesnt want to go back to 1950 and carry all of those old "trunks" around. The majority still rules.

You Cons can write off as many states as you need for socialist enclaves because it is becoming harder and harder for the far right to win a presidential election anymore. I am cool with electing those dang socialist democrats into office.....even if those democrats are moderate conservatives.

Do you people not learn anything? Obviously not, so please continue to "write off" those areas of the country that don't accept your wild rantings and political obtuseness, if that will hasten the disappearance of the present day Republican/Tea Party.

I agree with the opposition to social issues. Obama will appoint judges during his next term. Abortion will stay legal for at least the next 35 to 40 years, if not forever.

Gay marriage will happen. New gay senator and at least 1 more gay congressmen.

I happen to be against both but from here on in it will be a choice of knocking my head against the wall or conceding that the rest of the country disagrees with me or doesn't care about these issues.

Illegal immigration has to be looked at. Concede on guest workers and kids that were brought here.

The republicans have to get back to personal responsibility, strong defense, and smaller government.
Other issues will have to be forgotten about. At least not part of the platform.
