Sorry Democrats. The establishment types have been discovered to be fools. "Move to the middle"...."Romney is most electable", etc. etc.

2016 will look a whole lot different and it won't be because the GOP will be serving up some Democrat light candidate (which is what you all seem to think will fix our issues).

The results have angered some Republicans who blame Rove for “sidelining conservatives” and diverting money from them. “Right now there is stunned disbelief that Republicans fared so poorly after all the money they invested,” said Brent Bozell, president of For America, an Alexandria-based nonprofit that advocates for Christian values in politics. “If I had 1/100th of Karl Rove’s money, I would have been more productive than he was.”

Sure, that's a great idea. We'll see what happens in 4 years when you run Santorum, then.

Just about anybody the Dems put up against him will win in a landslide.

It won't be Santorum.

Think more Rand Paul or Marco Rubio or someone that is unknown to us now at a national level

Karl Rove did fine, proving it's better to sell advice than invest in advice.

BTW 2016 will look worse for the Pubbies as the demographics continue to slide toward the Dems. Colorado was the tipping point state this time and the President won that by 4.7%. Colorado, Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia are all formerly "red" states that will be blue to purple by 2016.

Rubio at least makes some sense in terms of trying to sway Hispanic voters, but he's a hard core right to lifer, isn't he?

Rove actually proved to Americans that democracy, not money, still rules this great nation!

Wait until Texas turns purple. The GOP will be out of power until the party ideology changes.

Or you could actually look at recent patterns of GOP nominees.

Romney, McCain, Dole, GHW Bush, Reagan. All candidates who came in second the previous time the nomination was contested, then ran again and won the nomination.

Paul or Rubio would be very a-typical GOP nominees. Santorum, who finished second this time around, would be a very typical GOP nominee. Now, that doesn't mean it will be Santorum. But there's a lot more to suggest it will be him than, say, Rubio.
