Romney's lose a lot. He didn't run again to become Governor (he would've lost), he didn't win his first try at the Office of President (he lost), he didn't win a seat in the Senate (lost), his dad tried for the Presidency (he lost), his mom ran for the Senate (she lost).
Perhaps the Romney name is just synonymous with loser.
He's a pretty package with very little content. He started out as hard right to win the nomination, then tried to become more moderate. It worked for a while, then folks began to see through the nonsense.
Well that's news. McCain still is acting childish over his defeat. Since his loss he has turned into a petulant, bitter old man instead of the more respected roll of senior "statesman",
McCain has sporadically acted out of line, but not consistently. And the days and weeks following 2008, he did NOT make excuses up for his loss.
Via this speech, Romney spit on his classy concession speech. This speech sounds like something Palin would do, or any other Trailer Trash type.
I agree that entitlements to low-income voters helped win this election for Obama, but Romney is the one who put it into play with his 47% comment. He was as clueless about running a campaign as he was about how to repair the economy.
I'm not sure why anyone is surprised by this--Romney has NEVER been a class act, regardless of the way some tried to paint him. Money doesn't make you a decent or even polite person. I knew things would turn out like this for him the minute that it looked like he was going to get the nomination. Once a jerk, always a jerk. I felt a little sorry for him when he was being publicly made fun of for election night, but after this, I'm done. He deserves what he gets.
That's just it--being gracious, or having "class," has absolutely nothing to do with your socioeconomic status, and everything to do with the way you were brought up.
That's just it--being gracious, or having "class," has absolutely nothing to do with your socioeconomic status, and everything to do with the way you were brought up. It's all about taking personal responsibility for your actions, and being appreciative and respectful of others. Mitt is all about Mitt. He's a clod.
Romney's problem is that he believes he was 'entitled' to the Presidency.
Yes. And it's not just Mitt Romney ... but the Republican leadership which exhibits the "entitlement" mentality. And if they're not the nation's leadership, as they believe they should be ... they'll destroy the institutions of government (as Grover Norquist has opined).
