By Mitt Romney not being elected has to be the greatest thing, IMHO, that has ever happened to America. I think it shows that the general populace is finally getting it. Also, in all this, i predict there will be a new era of "unionism" but with far-reaching implications.

That's all....good day and thank you Lord sweet baby Jesus!
Aren't you embarrassed to display such idiocy here on CD?

Think about it. In order to perhaps take a wage freeze or kick in more for health benefits, YOU HAVE TO HAVE A JOB IN THE FIRST PLACE!

The mortgage/banking mess had nothing to do with union/federal workers tightening their belts one iota! The crash came because the Dems insisted on banks lending to unqualified borrowers under Clinton's Fair Housing Act which ended up with blank checks being issued to Freddie and Fannie (exempt from Frank/Dodd) - NONE of which had anything to do with Mitt Romney!

The general populace is finally getting it?? Getting WHAT? Free stuff from da gubmint?

Hooray! You helped kill America.

When we are $22 trillion in debt at the end of Obama's second term, unemployment is up, savings and incomes are down, it will really be time to celebrate!

Perhaps you will be one of the many to lose their job. Then, when you can no longer effectively provide for your family and the future of your children, as well as the nation, is ruined, you will truely be happy

The idiocy lies with people that jump up and down and cheer for trickle down voodoo economics. Here's a well guarded secret...IT DOES NOT WORK! How many years of a shrinking middle class and charts that prove the theory is bogus do you actually need to accept the facts? Romney would have implemented supply side economics on steroids, which would have further crippled the economy for all, with the excepton of the top percent elite that is.

Yes OP, we didn't dodge a bullet, we dodged an atomic bomb. Good riddance to Romney, the Ryan Budget Plan and Ayn Rand philosophy running the show!

BTW, The deregulation of industry and Wall Street that would have transpired with Romney, would have been catastrophic.

You did so well predicting the last four years and the last election, WHY would anyone listen to your "predictions" going forward? Heck, you didn't even keep your word and not post for a week.

* The crash was not caused by democrats - this is repugs trying to shift blame for their own policies. It was caused by trickle-down economics and deregulated Wall Street banks run wild.
* You want jobs? Tell your repub congress to stop blocking jobs bills.

Yes. But not a super-majority, one that could pass all the legislation. There were too many blue dog Democrats in the House in 2008. The blue dogs voted with the Republicans often, and were often the guys who blocked legislation the White House wanted.

The 2010 election swept most of them away; Republicans wouldn't vote for a Democrat, and Democrats wouldn't vote for a Republican in everything but the name.

I think you're right.

And I think it's worth pointing out that this was a close election only because Romney was opposed by a politically crippled candidate. A strong one would have annihilated him by 25 percentage points.
