You do understand, don't you, that almost HALF of Americans who voted did not vote for Obama?
So the same could be said to you - why did Obama come close to losing an election he should have won definitively if he's so wonderful? Why did less people vote for him than they did in 2008?
I keep hearing all about America being a center right nation, how the conservative views of the Republican party are more in tune to the views of most Americans, how Obama was just too liberal for this country blah blah blah. If this is true, and Republicans hold the lock on America's moral compass, then why did you lose an election that you should have been able to win? And it wasn't a squeaker, you were soundly defeated!
I have to admit, all the anti Obama screaming and the tea party wave got me, as a liberal, kind of scared. I thought, "Maybe Obama has overstepped his bounds, maybe the progressive vision I have is considered an overreach by most people, maybe the US really is a center right country." My suspicions were not warranted. The radical Marxist Kenyan Socialist was reelected easily and his Democratic minions gained seats in the senate.
So I hope many of you who have been screeching for the past four years have seen the writing on the wall. Maybe you're the ones in the minority now, and maybe there's a new silent majority that's more progressive than you'd like to believe.
A corrupt eduction system that does not explain the success of Capitalism over all other economic systems keeps people in power that just want to take from producers and give to non-producers in order to gain power, money and political office.
Republicans never had a chance to unseat President Obama because they had not shown that they are any better than the pathetic verison that cursed us for 8 horrific years under Bush. Criticizing the other side 24/7 doesn't prove it. Ignoring Bush didn't prove it. Creating the Tea Party didn't prove it. Obstructing the President in Congress didn't prove it. Spending a billion dollars of deceptive marketing and lies in support of Romney didn't prove it.
Frankly, their ideas for the country don't work and they have REGRESSED. No surprise that they lost. They proved ONCE AGAIN that their rhetoric cannot be believed.

Laughable is assuming that all rual americans or even the majority are farmers. Laughable is assuming that all rual americans buy produce and or meat from said farmers.
Yes (Some) farmers enjoy Fed subsidies. Many do not. That is but one demension of the Rual community.
You come from Kansas so what. I come from Wyoming and now live in Pa. Both have huge rual areas. Tell the small dairy farmer how much the fed has helped him and he will say they give with one hand and take with the other. The Fed limits the price of milk to 1980's pricing at the farm level. If the fed is going to do this then the fed needs to pony up because they didn't fix the price of fuel or equipment to match.
By the way what did Obama offer the farmer that the GOP didn't? If you will recall Obama spoke volumes about Rual americans in 08. Small town americans cling to guns and religion. Not meant as a compliment. Of course he was speaking to a crowd of elitists who seemed to enjoy the comment at rual america's expense.
Not at all.. If the Federal Government quit aiding these farmers and ranchers.. Rural communities would dissapear even quicker than they are now. You say so many arent reliant on it.. Which ones? I would think about 80% ARE.. To add to this, business in small towns is based on agriculture in many cases.. For example, Much business exists in small towns due to the fact that farmers come into the county seats and spend money in them. Much of this money these farmers get, especially in years with poor crops and sometimes just for the heck of it.. Comes from the federal government.. Quit acting like you are so independent off it. You are like a chain smoker of 30 years claiming they aren't addicted to nicotine and tobacco and smoking

Americans that voted for Obama are about to learn a very hard lesson. Just like I learned a hard lesson when I voted for Carter years ago. Some of us just have to learn the hard way; but once the lesson is learned that way it sticks and we know better for the rest of our lives.
My reality hit the day I was buying hot dogs on sale to feed my children and the black lady beside me was buying them to feed to her dogs because she could not buy dog food with food stamps. People will forgive offenses but they will never forgive or forget how you make them feel.
Because we were having to pay so many taxes, I was having to buy food for my children that she was getting for free for her dogs. That will be going on in a much bigger way for the next four years. I ended up having to go to work and leave my children every day because the government was taxing my husband so they could pay the child care costs of other people. If taxes had been lower, I could have stayed home with our children. The government is forcing women to have to go out to work in order to pay people that are doing nothing.
