Laughable comparisons.

Obama was a United States Senator and well-known even before that due to his keynote address at the 2004 Democratic Convention.
Bush was a two-term Governor of Texas.
Clinton was a five-term Governor of Arkansas.
Kerry was a three-term United States Senator.
Gore was a Vice President and a Untied States Senator.
Reagan was a two-term Governor of California
Carter was a Governor of Georgia.

Comparing any of them to Trump, regarding a major-party nomination for President of the United States, is beyond absurd.

Trump is a personality. He is not a man of any real substance. He has become an entertainer. The fact will always exist that the man does not play fair nor does he pay his debts. Repeated declarations of bankruptcy have removed any credibility that the man may have had.

There have been a string of cartoon characters attempting to engage in public life...some got in there and others did not..Bush was a cartoon figure....Sarah Palin was a full blown cartoon character...Trump or "The Donald"...may as well be Donald Duck.

America does not need more flakes that fake their way to the highest office. Clint Eastwood...is not a super hero...He is NOT Dirty Harry...He is just an old man who played a game of lets pretend all his life and got paid for it...No more Hollywood please! People will channel Ronald Reagan as a great president that was once an actor. It was his wife Nancy that was the pragmatic brain behind that character...without her Reagan's tenure would have been a disaster....

As for Donald trump...Never trust a man who is so insecure that he is ashamed to show his forehead...what's that silly hair all about? The acts like an insecure ten year old...not a man.

Oleg? you crack me up! You must think Americans are insane when it comes to politics! The Republican party gave Americans a bunch of really bad canidates so the "smart" ones chose Obama!
I now want to repeal the 22nd. Amendment to the Constitution.

Donald wasn't ever for one second a serious contender for POTUS. Whether he was being serious with the birther stuff or it was part of some kind of publicity stunt(or both), I'm not sure.
Poll: Donald Trump Beating Entire GOP Field By 9 Points | TPMDC

Sure about that?

i agree, but........ there is no denying that he once lead in the primary polls and a quick search of this forum will find an ample amount of people praising the possibility of "President The Donald".

one interesting side-note i came across yesterday was the claim that trump's kids tried to give him a "birther intervention":

Eric, Donald Jr. and Ivanka Trump advised The Donald*to cool it on Obama, insider says* - NY Daily News

it's from the gossip section so take it for what it's worth but........ it does make sense that the heirs to the trump brand would try and prevent that brand from going down in flames ( not to mention that no kid wants to see their dad making a douche-rocket out of himself ).

trump and his reps are denying the claim ( maybe then it was the "hawaiian investigators" that held the intervention ).

In a real GOP field, Trump couldn't last long enough to drink a cup of coffee.

That's right, he was leading in the polls at 17 percent behind Mitt Romney at 21 percent.

No Joke: Donald Trump's a Leading GOP Presidential Contender - Politics - The Atlantic Wire

This means people are either A. just giving totally clueless answers to polls (Since, As claimed here, he wasn't a "serious' contender.)

OR B. people thought he was a contender.

Or C. Wait, there is no C. If he wasn't a potential serious contender, wouldn't he be in the back with the losers? OR do people just want non-serious, non contenders in the lead?

All 3 are FAIL.

Well how much worse can he be than Obama, America's most hated man, "worst of all U.S. presidents?" Or so the 'Right' conservative repubs say.

Lightbulb How do people like Donald trump seriously become possible contenders to be President.

Step 1: have big name and face recognition among the general public, along with megabucks

Step 2: declare as a GOP candidate

Step 3: make silly, juvenile statements on a regular baisis whenever there's a microphone in front of your face

Before you know it, you'll be encouraged to join the campaign trail.
