I have read more than once this week that Romney won 21% of the Black Male vote under 30 according to exit polls. This is 3 times the share McCain won. I would like to know if this is due to the high unemployment rate in this demographic, Obama's stance on gay marriage, statistical outliers?

While this number is still very lopsided, the trend is unmistakable. Republicans can begin to offset Dem minority gains by honing in their philosophy (minus some of the dog whistles which turned otherwise conservative minorities away) to this and other demographics. This is very interesting because this is THE EXACT demographic (young black male) that the left wing media victimizes and extreme right wing media demonize.

Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) is possibly a great start to expanding the tent.

This is good news. As the older, racist generation dies off, Republicans will become more inclusive and that is what will be absolutely essential to win future elections. The GOP should really target conservative blacks and hispanics. The voters they will gain by doing this will far exceed any old, angry white men voters they will lose. Those who cling to the racist ideals of the 19th and first half of the 20th century are becoming increasingly few every election cycle.

Um where's you link? Don't you know all black people voted for Obama? Haven't you read the many threads dissecting the voting habits of black people? Only people that voted for Romney were stacey dash and condi rice.

So approximately 79% of black males under 30 did not vote for Romney? Shocker! What was the stat for the overall black population? overall males under 30?

Yes, I find that statistic highly improbable.

Interesting -- but in a way not surprising. I know my black neighbor had Romney Ryan signs in his yard but he's not under 30 -- but he works for a living.

I posted this earlier as being a glimmer of hope. It makes sense though young black males are suffering with high rates of unemployment.

Liberalism has failed them.
