Unfortunately, all you're going to find is OPINION on this board. I suggest you go to the Barack Obama site and find out his positions and then do goggle searches, this is a worldwide resource that will give you access to the worlds' opinion. Unfortunately IMO I don't think Obama will be elected because people can't see past his skin color and because they are caught up in the media hype of stating that he has no experience. When in reality that's just an excuse, because Bush didn't have any experience either, he was a 1 term Governor. So you do the math!
The fact that all you can find is opinion versus analysis is a point in itself. Everyone has an opinion, that's what makes speculations interesting.
As far as racial tensions are concerned, you can easily reference incidents in the news. Good topics to relate to: Jena 6, Michael Vick, Don Imus, Duke Lacrosse, Ray Nagin and his rebuilding New Orleans as a "Chocolate City". Each of these cases show the extreme to which race plays a big part of the American Society.
Borack Obama is an individual. He is one person among many candidates. Hillary is white, I'm still not voting for her.
America would be ready for a Black President if the concepts of segregating everything amongst black, white, hispanics, Pacific Islander, etc. When America and the Mass Media learn to ignore the physical embodiment of a person ((color, ugly/pretty, fat/skinny)) and focus more on the person him/herself - then we can see a Black Person taking the throne.
kimmyire - a postive example of race and elections in the USA is the recent gubernatorial election of Bobby Jindal (Republican - Louisiana). His parents immigrated from India and he won the Governor's race in a landslide.
