thank you for telling us, we are stupid party:: I haven't heard too many Republicans refer to us as that, but maybe I just didn't hear the right people...

Well, I hear you Nita. Not good to say such things, but the 2012 line up did not inspire confidence in the intelligence of the GOP. At least in Texas, we know that the Governor is primarily for entertainment value, but to put such wingnuts up as viable presidential candidates? Come on. And the whole gaggle of legislators that signed a pledge to Norquist before they ever enter office, promise to cut agencies they cannot remember, wink and shout "drill, baby, drill!", media fools who say the polls are biased (Unskewed Polls, etc.) are just an ongoing insult to your fellow citizens. Seriously, the GOP needs to nominate some people who are fit to serve, not just a bunch of lobbyists and corporate clowns, and engage the rest of the country in an intelligent discussion.

I have to admit, last year, when it came to the Pres choices it was pretty sad...the only candidates I agreed with on even a few things, were not going to get the nomination. We are doing fine in other areas. I think we saw two or three things last year: 1-too many candidates, too many debates: 2-our really good posibilities were too new to the scene to run and we all know, regardless of reputation, a sitting Pres is very hard to beat. Ford was defeated, but he was never elected and Carter was a disaster waiting to happen.

Nita

What craziness?

Some people should read a book called The Big Sort by some guy named Bishop (can't think of his first name). It's about how people are now self-sorting themselves into like-minded communities so much so that opinions in the rest of the country seem alien/crazy to them. It's not just about politics, either.

No matter who you choose by the time the general election campaign starts the MSM will destroy the candidate and paint them as an extremist. Low information voters eat that stuff up.

Already blaming the evil MSM for your next thrashing?
Time would be better spent purging your party of kooks like Rand Paul and stop demonizing people like Christie for the crime of treating Obama like a human being.

Exactly.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: People like sensible, moderate, honest candidates with charisma.
Christie is actually pretty good. A loose cannon, perhaps, but he seems honest.
