What do you think about all the negative campaign ads? I wonder if they will back fire this time because most people will get so tired of all the lies and distortions that they will just be turned off. I see right through the lies in those ads but does the average person? Tell us what you think?

I hope so....I truly hate the mudslinging.
I'd rather see a candidate take the high road.

The truth is that the amounts of mud-slinging, lies, deception, and everything else involved with elections is what turns many people away.

It's a very sad state of affairs right now.

For a second, just try to imagine "mud-slinging" campaigns over a hundred years ago... Before TV, Before Radio. I'm actually curious as to if it happened - or if we've really deteriorated the political world this badly in such a short period of time...

If you're slinging mud about the oponents you don't have to tell the world how you really feel on the issues.
My vote will go for the candidate that knows the issues and will state his (and I did say HIS on purpose) view on the issues.

Considering that most of our political leadership is now filled with washed out attorney's with sharp minds and no morals, full pockets and hollow hearts, dripping with charisma and devoid of character, huge egos and little empathy, driven by greed while hindered by the size of their grasp.

How easy is it for any of these greedy actors to create an ad about themselves or others that isn't below the belt and negative. Would be like trying to write a positive and happy commercial about STD's.

Talking What ads?

In anticipation for the coming 2008 campaign season, I canceled my TV subscription. So to answer the OP's question: No, the negative campaign ads do not bother me.
