Sources: Thompson Gains National Right to Life Endorsement

Monday, November 12, 2007

Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson has won the endorsement of the National Right to Life Committee, the largest U.S. antiabortion group, three sources tell FOX News.

The announcement is scheduled to be made Tuesday in Washington D.C.

Now here are my questions (as I LIKE Fred):

1. Will this help Thompson surge in the polls?

2. Will this endorsement help Fred steal votes from liberals (McCain and Rudy) and from the wishy-washy ones (Romney)?

3. Or will it not make a difference at all???

What do you all think??? Can Thompson come back and beat Rudy and Romney in key anti-abortion states in the South???

I don't even know who they are and I am Pro-life (thats just my view, don't hate me for it!)...

Oh yeah, I could care less if Fred Thompson got any endorsement, or any endorsement by any institution for any of the candidate because I dictate how I vote with what the candidate stands for... but I do like Fred Thompson in Law and Order but that doesn't affect my decision...

I don't think it will have any impact. Very few endorsements these days have any impact. And for the Republican part, the base is so split up right now, for every one endorsement that seems like it matters for one, someone else endorses their opponent. Its a wash, I'd ignore it.

I am a total Fred supporter. He isn't lost, he knows exactly where he stands on issues. He has his platform on his website Fred08.com
In conservative polls taken he is the front runner so I would say he does have a chance in the South. I hope the endorsement does help him. I'm so tired of the main stream media counting him out. He does a lot of his campaigning online.

As long as ABC, CBS and NBC have pre-decided that Rudy and Mitt are the more entertaining than Fred, they will low-key the endorsement. Fred is going to have to do more to take his campaign directly to the people. I'm not sure he's doing such a good job of that right now but he better do something about it fast.

As a fellow Fred supporter I think any endorsement helps. I don't think it matters what ABC, CBS and NBC think about the race, I see it being very close on the Republican side.

Frankly, I think he has a very good shot at being the eventual nominee. In my view, Rudy has thin support (though he might have the best shot of actually being elected in the general election), Mitt has the flip/flop issue that keeps him from gaining momentum (and being Mormon isn't helping him either) and McCain can't get much support due to his Iraq and Illegal Alien positions.

the flip flop position does not seem to be hurting hillary in the polls.
