It's not about liking or disliking him. Yet again you missed the point. Perry was a democrat who flip flopped to the republican side in order to get elected. Hence dems do get elected as Guv'nor in Texas.
You live in Texas, you know better than that; yes, he changed his party, but his views are very conservative on most issues, especially social issues. I think the only issue where he might not be really to the right, is on immigration. I happen to like his views on the subject.

That was an enlightening article. Wasn't there a Vice presidential candidate recently, who was also a trial lawyer?

Meet Amber Mostyn - the woman behind Wendy Davis

Steve and Amber Mostyn are 1st Tier political donors - they donated more than even George Sorus to Democratic campaigns across the country. Amber is a big Hillary supporter, you can count on both Bill and Hillary stumping in Texas for Miss Wendy - Davis won't run if Amber doesn't say she can. Wendy Davis spent $4 Million to her opponents $1 Million is the 2012 campaign and nobody had ever heard of the doctor that ran against Wendy Davis. She barely beat him by a couple of points.

Point is ..... when it comes to any candidate for any office.
Check out where their money comes from. Check out their history.
Check who their advisors are - particularly at the Federal level.

None of these folks come out of "nowhere" - there is always a 'back story'.

Reality check - Politics is about Big Money & Connections, this is no secret.
What are the odds that a person that is flat broke, can rise to the highest office in the country in 8 short years when nobody has ever heard of him? Think that is an "accident"? Think again.

That last bit doesn't have anything to do with Wendy Davis, but it is sure food for thought.

Exactly what I've been saying - Does anyone really believe that Wendy Davis is a "different breed" of Democrat - Texas style? What is her platform going to be?

Gun Control?
Late Term Abortion?
Increase Taxes, maybe a State income tax?

That just will not fly in Texas, but it is the Progressive Dream of Utopia and has a long history of failure in Texas.

Texas Democrats are every bit as ignorant, out of touch and generally lost as the Democrats found in other parts of the country, boy don't fool yourself.

Politico had an article a couple of days ago from "close Democratic sources" that Wendy Davis will run for Governor of Texas - her big announcement will be in the Haltom High School auditorium according to the Texas Tribune.
Wendy Davis Releases Details About Announcement

Politico has a front page article today about Wendy and her "winning issue" for her campaign for the Governor of Texas.

Abortion is a winning issue for Wendy Davis - Politico

I think that is just weird - the premise is that Texans will think an Abortion argument (keep in mind that Abortion has been the Law of the Land for decades) is going to be THE most important issue to decide who the next Governor of Texas will be. I guess it's more of the "war on women" stuff, which actually doesn't play well in Texas.

Add to all that ...... they are just flat wrong on this late term Abortion stuff when it comes to the mainstream opinion polls. The polls are Quinnipiac, Washington Post/ABC News, National Journal & Wall Street Journal.

Quote:
Guess who likes the GOP’s 20-week abortion ban? Women. - Washington Post, August 2013But while Democrats are sure to use the new proposed restrictions to feed the narrative of Republicans’ “war on women,” polling on the issue actually tells quite a different story.

In fact, of four major polls conducted in recent weeks on the 20-week abortion ban, each one shows women are actually more supportive of the law than men.
I guess all this is being decided in Washington D.C. - that's where Wendy has been spending all her time working on her strategy. One thing is for sure - if she does run for Governor (I still think Lt Gov is her only possible shot) then it's going to be a bloody, rough and tumble battle. Washington D.C. against Texans.

You got jammed up by those people from California you let in to ruin your state. You should have put the border fence around Texas to keep the Californians out. It happens everywhere. They all flee the big lib expensive overly regulated states for the red states and as soon as they get to their new cheaper one, they develop amnesia and try to make the new state like the crapfest they just fled.

They respond to big government doing behavior modification so you might want to have special California taxes in Texas that just get levied on the California refugees. Then, eminant domain their property and put up some gun ranges on their land.

That news is as surprising as a summer drought in the Panhandle.
