I don't care what YOU call it.
Who died and made YOU the judge?
You claimed that "none of their presidential candidates in modern times speak any lick of Spanish" - when clearly that claim is just plain WRONG (regardless of just how WELL Carter speaks it).
Aside from that, even IF your claim was true, it sure reflects poorly on the GOP that even without Presidential candidiates fluent in Spanish, the Democrats are still creaming the GOP at the polls in regards to the Latino vote - what the h*ll is wrong with the GOP?

calm down and take a tranquilizer , nobody made me judge and nobody made you an authority here about anything. I made an opinion just like you made yours. The difference is I don't get mad or call people WRONG for something silly like this.

the rest that you wrote about the GOP, I could care less, that's your bias opinion. Latinos can keep voting for the democrats for free stuff, they are still at the bottom of the barrel in all categories in society that reflects poorly on them....How do you like them apples?

I suspect GOP is self destructing so they can clean out the Tnuts and rebuild with Conservative Repubs over the next decade or two.

30 governships, a majority of statehouses, the House of Representatives.....no, the GOP isn't self-destructing. You're just fantasizing about one party Democrat rule, the thought of which makes you happy - if that happened you would be able to let the government run your life even more. The Democrat Party is the party of weak-willed saps who are afraid to take care of themselves, or can't.

Along with Moderates, I am a big fan of having a significant conservative Party and a significant Progressive Party. Right now we don't have a significant Conservative side, they have been usurped by the Tnuts. That will be corrected Federally and at the State and Local level because Americans fundamentally believe in the Right to Vote.

Sure. You'd think that if the GOP was really confident the ACA was so awful, they'd just let it go into effect and let the country see the terrible consequences.

Kind of like what they're doing with the federal government shutdown.

No, they're actually terrified that like Medicare and Medicaid, once it goes into effect, the American populace will pretty soon see that it's not so bad, hey, I'm saving money, oh, yeah, my kid can be on my health insurance until she's 2, looky here, Martha, we just got a rebate check from our insurance company! Etc.

Democrats won the popular vote in your state by 800,000. 63% to 33%

the one Republicans that did win, won by 120,000.

Maryland has 8 congressional districts. 7 won by Democrats, all won by atleast 58% of the vote.

As the picture shows, your districts arent even gerrymandered in the sense of the word. They are regional apportionments.

If They reapportioned 30,000 voters from every district neighboring into District 1 and moved the equivilent from district one into those districts , then there would be 8 Dems in congress from Maryland and each one would have a victory by 50,000+ and still win by 60% of the vote.

If Democrats wanted to, they could easily "break" that district and have had 9 Democrats in congress in stead of the one republican you do have.
Yeah, the fact that the Governor, President of the State Senate and Speaker of the House of Delegates all openly stating that the redrawing of the lines was specifically done to get rid of the Republican representing the 6th District shouldn't be taken at face value. They must have been lying.

The reality is that the lines in all the districts, except the 1st, were redrawn to accomplish the defeat of that Republican. This was done despite very strong pleas to create another majority-minority district in the DC suburbs (which will happen without any redrawing when Hoyer retires).

Had it been able to be done even the 1st District would have been redrawn to elect a Democrat (which it did in 2010, that's why the 1st was left alone, everyone thought Kratovil would be reelected). The combinations to accomplish that would not have passed Court review.

The goal of electing all Democratic Representatives has been a goal since the 90's when MD's delegation was split 4 and 4. The lines were redrawn in 2001 in such a way that eliminated two of those districts (formerly represented by Connie Morella and Helen Bentley and, later Bob Ehrlich). The latest redraw almost accomplished that goal.

wishful thinking.......................you don't let a bad law go into effect that will hurt the country as a political strategy.......that's like saying let my kid smoke crack and get addicted so he will see the terrible consequences so he will stop.....the damage would have been done.

If the voters in your district don't want Obamacare and they sent you to washington, then you represent te people and last time I look at all the polls, the majority of Americans are against Obamacare.

I think there are a large number of TP Reps that are very vulnerable to actual Repubs.
