Sanders does not seem to have a deep seated desire to be POTUS, but he said that if other candidates to not address the issues that need to be addressed...
Quote:
If no one is addressing the central issues of our time in the run up to 2016, US Senator Bernie Sanders says that he may run for US president. “Obviously if I did not think I had a reasonable chance to win I wouldn’t run,” he recently told Politico. On the other hand, if other candidates aren’t talking enough about the issues that matter to him – he mentioned mainly domestic questions, including the collapse of the middle class, growing wealth and income inequality, growth in poverty, and what he calls “global warming” — the 72-year-old career politician says, “well, then maybe I have to do it.”

This isn’t Sanders’ first long-shot run, nor his first campaign against a woman seeking high office. In 2016 his opponent may well be Hillary Clinton. Although Sanders has effectively ruled out a race against first-term Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, the former First Lady and Secretary of State gets no such pass.

Elizabeth Warren is no Sanders, Kucinich, Paul, etc. She may have some positive positions and ideas but she has shown she is willing to lie to get what she wants.

Facts.

epublicans hate Social Security because it has been an extraordinary success and has done exactly what it was designed to do. It is the most successful government program in our nation's history and is enormously popular.
When Social Security was developed, 50 percent of seniors lived in poverty. Today, that number is 10 percent - still too high, but a testament to the success of Social Security.
Republicans have spent years demonizing Social Security and spreading lies about its sustainability. They want to scare Americans and build support for making drastic cuts to the program or privatizing it entirely. Their long-term goal is to end Social Security as we know it, and convert it into a private account system which will enable Wall Street to make hundreds of billions in profits.

Why Do Republicans Hate Social Security?

Thanks my friend . Anyone who is not a Billionaire must read these facts.

actually, no. Three sides to every debate, yours, his and the actual truth. You are sadly lacking hon. And many states do NOT have Medicaid bcs they refused federal funding, and now ER's are clogged.

The cognitive dissonance is beyond mind blowing here. IIRC you are a senior? And your in laws from 20 yrs ago is a strawman tangent.

I am a senior but no, I am not lacking. We happen to have a few, quite a few members of our family in the medical field. I probably have more knowledge about the system than you ever thought of having or ever will having. Please do not call be hon, I am anything but your hon!!!!!!!

Are American voters smart enough to vote for this? Of course not. Sanders has no chance, and his intellectualism will be banished to the sidelines even in primary debates. Moderators would ask him questions about his hair, or home grown maple syrup or something.

Bernie Sanders is a statesman of the highest order, and he has more common sense than you can shake a stick at. I would support his campaign in a heartbeat. Young people are sick & tired of the political lies and nonsense we've all experienced in the past 30 years. When are we ever going to elect someone that will work hard for everyone? Why is this so hard to grasp?

We need more like him.

Democrats and Republicans have long wore at their welcome in America.
If people actually stopped screaming 'Socialist! Socialist! Socialist!' and looked at what Bernie actually voted for and against they'd see an honest man who does what he says he'll do and works diligently to support and protect veterans, working folks, small business owners, and more. But he doesn't support the oligarchy, so he'll be marginalized, and made to look a fool because he won't play there games. He consistently votes to help Veterans and he consistently votes against crap like the Patriot Act and similar measures. He's honestly just what this country needs.

Unfortunately, he's a bit of a prickly guy in person. He's brilliant and focused and doesn't suffer fools well. Consequently, I think he would be a tough sell on a national statge that values style over substance.

Great post! Most people can not/will not actual check out some ones voting history.
They just see an "R" or a "D" or an "S" and make a snap decision based on very little actual knowledge.
Voters quite often vote against their own self interest because of a label or a single issue.
