Yet every drop of that gas eventually made it into the park ranger's tanks, which reveals just how much BS the "it cost $24 billion" talking point is. More like "it slightly delayed 24 billion from being spent".
And of course the CoC would prefer a cozy, uninterrupted line to government contracts.
It's hilarious to see Progressives defending private contractors who are getting fat on the government dole. truly, despicably, heinously hypocritical.
But so typical.
Like I said before, you don't have to convince me. Tell it to the US Chamber of Commerce and see how far you get with them.
They are all done with the teabaggers. Now we will get to see which of the shrinking bunch of big money supporters who paid for that decrepit bunch are going to jump ship next.

It's not like 24 billion was literally flushed down the toilet as the fabled *******ed talking points suggest.
Also keep in mind the government costs 10.5 billion A DAY to run, So by *******ed talking point standards we could say that the 14 day shutdown saved the government $123 billion.
How is it not real money ? you seem to be arguing that since it doesnt affect you, it isnt real.
and no, the 14 day shut down did not save money. The operation of our country still happens regardless of the shut down.
and i have yet to see anyone say money was "literally" flushed down the toilet, sounds like you are the one with fabricated talking points.

I cut the whole quote down to these words...I didn't change the meaning, just dropped all other words and this is what stands out.
The American public has a problem finding ammo as they did a mere 5 years ago. It is now a commodity heavily regulated by the federal government. How does $24B go to the purchase of that which the American public can't purchase?
And yet, the CoC supported many Tea Party candidates in 2010 and 2012, and the TP hasn't changed its stance on anything since then. So it would seem the CoC will definitely support candidates who are extremists if it suits their purposes. The Tea Party has proven to be detrimental to business; that is the only reason the CoC is pulling its support.
The government shutdown cost $24 Billion dollars. A lot of that money was to go to American business and industry who hold government contracts for goods and services.
The shutdown produced needless layoffs and created economic crisis widely in the business community all across the United States. Large corporations and tiny local businesses were hurt, farmers who counted on their federal loans to get through the harvest were hurt, the transportation industry was hurt, and all research and development sectors were hurt.
And all of it was caused by the small tea party caucus in the House. There's no surprise the National Chamber of Commerce doesn't trust or support the teabaggers any more. They proved themselves to be a bunch of unreliable, irresponsible anarchists.
If it cost 24 billion then how much is lost each weekend when more of the government is shut down than during this shutdown?
I wonder how much the shutdown cost the town of West Yellowstone and any other town that`s heavily dependent on National Park tourism? Those towns are open on the weekends too. Imagine that.
