I think they probably will. I was talking to a friend of mine who is a far-left liberal, and mentioned that I was leaning towards Ted Cruz 2016. "You know that he's a Canadian," came the response, followed by a litany of reasons why Cruz could not run for POTUS.
Will that stop the left from going full-birther in 2016? I doubt it. If Cruz does run, which I hope he does, it's going to make the birtherism of WND, Trump, etc look like a play toy. We're going to get birtherism from NBC, ABC, CBS, and the NYT. We're going to get birtherism espoused by the Katie Courics, the Charlie Gibsons, and the elite of the elites.
They will not go full birther on Cruz. It was Obama`s appearance that sent these people into Nuttyville.
The subject will be brought up and when clarified it will be forgotten, unlike the righties who even after 5 years and with no evidence whatsoever are still clinging to their stupid birtherism claims against President Obama.
I very much doubt there would be a liberal version of birtherism against Cruz if he runs and if he is elected.
I think that anyone on the left who goes birther on Ted Cruz is probably just as nutty as the right wingers who went birther on Obama.
Aside from that I think many on the left want Ted Cruz to be the GOP nominee because of his tea party associations and the fact that he is tied to the shutdown.
What I think will be more interesting is whether the birthers who were so loud about Obama are going to go after Cruz, somehow I think the (R) by his name will make them go silent.
Gave you rep Egbert!
Democrats don't need to go "full birther" on Cruz. ("full birther"?) We really do hope that he runs, though.

I hope there is no repeat of the Obama situation, no one needs to live through something like that again, but there is still a difference: in the case of Cruz, you are right, a simple explanation will settle the debate, in the case of Obama, there was a question as to the whereabouts and legalization of his birth certificate, huge difference.

There was a question as to the whereabouts and legalization of his bc? Only the full blown racist nutjobs had questions.

Seems to me President Obama showed his long and short forms of his Hawaiian birth certificate and his birth was announced in two local newspapers,Why do you feel this isnt good enough to prove where he was born?
IMO the question as to the whereabouts and legalization of his birth certificate came strictly from deluded RWNJs/read poor losers who to this day still think there is a coverup or conspiracy on the issue with absolutely not a shred of evidence to back up their allegations which they've been obsessing over for 5-6 years now,, people like birthers will go to their graves hating Obama and thinking he was born in Kenya. http://whatreallyhappened.com/WRHART...obamabirth.php

cruz released a government issued birth certificate online ( thru the dallas morning news ) aug 18, 2013. the information on it has not been confirmed by any government official.

There was NO question whatsoever about the whereabouts or the legalization of Obama's birth certificate. Just because the RWNJ's went bats*** with conspiracy theories doesn't mean it was actually legit or their was any question over it.
