I supported and voted for a Centrist for Prez in the last 2 elections...

Maybe this will help ...

That's not very friendly. The post I asked about was very convoluted and not clear at all.

Sorry, but you are the one who decided to take me to task. I couldn't believe you thought I was claiming to be a centrist. And I thought me comment about that was very clear. The person I was responding to has never had a positive thing to say about a single Republican I don't think: certainly that doesn't sound like a centrist to me. I have never claimed to be one except when it comes to social issues. There I am pretty center of the road on most issues.

Tends to be that all problems get tied to the incumbent after Blaming their predessessor or Congress seems silly after a full cycle through the Senate and a few through the House
So the Democrats will not have a monopoly on the presidency, at least I highly doubt it.
With 241 ECS locked up in most cases, in states with a 10%+ Blue plurality, winning the Wall by 7 or 8% still gets them 90% of the way. Add NM & Va (part of the Blue Wall-we'll be reflecting on 2012 as the clear turning point by 2020), they are 97% of the way.

If the Dems had a weak win 286 like W did in 2004, or his ultra weak win 271 in 2000,you could be correct. They had 332. A little slippage could drop that by 20 or 30, but 300, 310,332..all get the same victory dance.

And previously the minority party did not have demographic changes working against it. They need to adapt to 21st century America, not wait for America to return to the 19th century they would demographically prefer.

I support a Centrist Repub for Florida Gov ... Charlie Crist What you seem to be missing is, if you want to be in politics and are a Repub and a Centrist, you are not allowed to be in the Gang Of Phonies. Ergo, most go into the Dem Party. That will continue to be true until the phony gang cleans up the mess in their pants.

It's ok. It difficult to detect sarcasm on the internet.

I personally don't like the people using the term "right, left, center, etc" as if it's a linear relationship. At the least it's a plane with 2 axes.

After the 1988 Election, many people were saying similar things about the democrats

Except, back then, there was no shortage of racist white men to go around. These days, they are a dying breed, to the disappointment of several posters on here
