fisheye: one problem, women are relatively new to politics. Yes, there have been women involved for years but on a very limited bases. The more women we elect to other positions, the more we will have aiming at the top job.
Well said, Nita. This is it exactly. Women have only really been in the political system for a few decades in any numbers, and even so the numbers are much, much lower proportionally than men, or in proportion to the total population of women v men. Gaining access to the top takes time and a lot of work.
I'm in my 50s, and when I was growing up the very idea of a female president was unthinkable. That's only a generation ago. Women are slowly working their way to the top, but it takes time.

Exactly. This is also true of many minorities. The system changes slowly but it does change.

Do you really think women will do worse that last couple we had in office!
PS I'm ready for change and I don't mean some meaningless promise. How many years do we have to go before we give the other half of the population a shot at running the country?
And as a woman once said" what difference does it make". And that is exactly a good answer on a woman president. Lets see, from the {R} side she will be pro life, for tax cuts, and be able to quote Reagan at a drop of a hat. On foreign policy she will stay the course and her administration will be filled with CFR members.
I can go over to the {D} side but I think you get my drift the only special attribute a woman president would bring is she has a vagina. The reality is both parties suck and a woman would not change that. Who ever she is she will tow the same party line ideology and spew the same tired rhetoric.

wow, did I say anything about who would do worse? Of course I don't think that. Give us the right person and our country can be turned around, slowly but surely. I just do not want to see the country vote for anyone based on color, gender, sexual orientation, religion or any other reason except what is best for our country. I can think or a couple women I would support: problem, I am not sure they are interested at this time. Could I support Hillary? No, ok, say I am patrician and that is part of it, but I just do not like her or trust her. The one Dem woman I would have supported many years ago is Diane Feinstein. No, I do not agree with everything she stands for: I don't agree with a lot of actions, but I do think she is fair and could have worked with both sides. We were still in CA. when she was mayor of San Francisco, she had a tough job, but she made it work. Now, she is too old to consider running for anything else. I would guess she is about to retire.

What about Elizabeth Warren; if she would change her mind and run? There is a woman that would bring change - possibly too much change to ever get in the WH?

No way in HELL would I support a socialist..end of story!!!!
So it's perfectly ok to attack women as long as Democrats consider it humor? Got it, thanks.
