I just want to say one thing. Carson wasn't just a neurosurgeon. He was the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery. He was also a co-director of the Johns Hopkins Craniofacial Center. By not mentioning he was in charge at a prestigious hospital doesn't give him credit for his leadership skills.
I'm glad that he is considering running. However with zero elected office experience, he would be a long shot. I somehow get the sense that he would not want the VP slot. If he did get the nomination, he would have to get a running mate with political and foreign policy experience, along the lines of HW Bush in 1980.

I hate to burst your bubble (well, really, I don't ) but no one on the left is afraid of Dr. Carson. We welcome him to the clown car. The more the merrier.
i dont think white conservatives would vote for a black man.
Then you would be wrong. Some won't of course. But disregarding the overt racists, most will listen to what he has to say. They won't vote for him just BECAUSE he is a black man.
It does look like he is considering a run. He is a brilliant and accomplished man. That doesn't necessarily make him the right person for the job of president of the United States. I'll be following closely (as I will be following every other candidate who dares to give the job a shot). It's going to be an interesting couple of years.
