He'd be my first choice if given the opportunity.

Bernie Sanders is a self proclaimed Socialist. That should be enough to prevent him from ever being elected to anything in this Country, however since he is from Vermont and ran as a Democrat, many ignorant people think he says all the right things, HE'S A SOCIALIST!!
I would love to see him get in and make Mrs Bill Clinton have to tout her leftist bona fides !

I believe he ran as a member of the Socialist party, didn't he? I believe he caucuses with the Democrats, though because they are the closest things to a Socialist. What does that tell you?

I would love to see him run on the Socialist ticket, what with the way the leftists are fawning over him. We need another Ralph Nader in 2016.

I've been a fan of Sanders ever since he was mayor of Burlington. Of the theoretical candidates who have been mentioned, he's the only one I could enthusiastically support. Unfortunately, the system is structured to disallow a third party candidate to effectively compete, and most of the American public has internalized the socialism=evil propaganda the capitalist oligarchy has historically fed them.

The fact he doesn't suck up to corporate America will probably doom his chances. I like where he stands on some of the issues, like the fact he doesn't suck up to corporate America, but he's too far left to get the majority of the vote

Doesn't have to be, just as long as he drives Hillary in that direction.

I hope Sanders wins. It's about time the Democrats had a bona fide Socialist on the ticket instead of one that hides the fact.

I think he's the best we have so far. I believe I misspoke about him on another thread somewhere but have since changed my mind. He has spit and vinegar and passion and isn't afraid to say exactly what he thinks -- including that he's a democratic socialist. I don't care about labels as much as I care about issues, and he answers questions directly, doesn't "politico-speak," and he's engaging enough to appeal to voters of every age group.

He's the only one so far I feel I can trust enough to tell me the truth. He inspires me.

A Socialist and a Communist are nowhere near the same thing. Consult a dictionary.
