I figure that will be the most we see. Definitely not the same 2010 that many conservatives on here keep dreaming about. And this definitely won't be a filibuster proof Senate, so Republicans would be forced to really work with the Democrats if they want to get anything done.

My hope is that McConnell loses so that he doesn't have the chance to take control of the Senate.

This is great news. Looks like Obama will be a lame duck for the last 2 years. I expect maximum obstruction of his agenda.

Oh good, two more years of Republicans doing nothing but obstruction. They have become the Waste of Space Party.

As of yesterday's calculation, Nate Silver is projecting the GOP to take the Senate, but with only 52 to 53 seats. Anything more than 3 seats is pretty farfetched as far as his algorithm shows. I don't know how rock solid his algorithm is to recent changes, like NC and IA flipping to Dems recently according to RCP's No Tossups map, though Silver is predicting a Democratic win for IA at 54% chance, while NC is GOP at 55% chance. We'll see who is more accurate come election day. Silver's predictions are not far off, and probably one of the most accurate out there, as he was one of the very few pollsters that correctly predicted the 2012 election.

My personal opinion, midterms have historically favored the GOP, since the GOP has a more dedicated base of voters than the Dems, so I can see the GOP having a 52-54 seat majority. However, I really doubt the GOP is going to hold on to their Senate majority in 2016. 2016 will be the year that demographics are going to start to take a more noticeable toll on the GOP
Even if the GOP loses the Senate in 2016, it won't lose the House. And liberals and Democrats will be right back to 2010-2014. If you think the House is reluctant to work with Barack Obama, just wait until you see the seething Hatred For All Things Clintonâ„¢ that's coming down the pike!

It is good to see you are already accepting a loss in the presidential and senate elections in 2016.

Eventually people are going to start getting tired of the "do nothing" far right wing Republicans and start replacing them with moderate Republicans that are willing to work with Democrats which will get the government moving again.

I live in a wonderful Democrat run area, why would I move from that? I would hate to be a Republican in Portland.

This is the great conservative hope that millions of voters stay home it's the only way they can win.
And don't forget that they are doing everything they can to restrict people's access to the voting process.

I know, how dare people not be allowed to vote multiple times or under a fake name. How dare they not allow dead people to vote. This is outrageous.
