I'm in Iowa. I voted at about 10 AM and turnout was about what I expected. It wasn't packed, but it wasn't empty either. There were probably about 10 elderly people voting in addition to myself. I was behind 1 person in line, but most of the voting booths were occupied. I was in and out in 5 minutes. I assume it will be packed later today when work is over for many since there's a gubernatorial race and extremely close senate battle going on.

I went just before 8 AM and was number 44. They only had 2 booths so they expected a lighter turnout. No waiting and there were only a few people ahead of me. There was only one person outside the polls doing a last minute campaign support presence. A kid in a suit that gave me a note pad with the candidates name on it.
It was not a great feeling voting for candidates that all had negatives against them and the urge was there to write in a vote or take the option of voting but not supporting any of the above. In the end it came down to voting more against someone than for someone. No independents were running so that wasn't my usual option.

For a mid term, they are talking historically record high voter participation in all states.
The silent majority comes alive.
