Mike Huckabee and John Thune are from the heartland...Arkansas and Minnesota. Yes, John Thune is unknown and is charisma-free, but he can help with young voters, help in the Midwest and is very telegenic on TV. Thoughts?

Really, really unknown.

Just messing with you...I like Sen. Thune, and Gov. Huckabee is very telegenic himself, but Huckabee's emphasis is very much based in social conservatism and evangelicalism rather than economic conservatism. If I remember correctly, he's been pretty stringent on the gay marriage debate, and his side has pretty much lost that debate in the eye of public opinion at this point. That social conservatism might get him far in the GOP primary, but I don't think it'll hold very strong in a national election, especially if he continues to focus on it like he has in the past.

Huckabee is the status quo. No different than what we've seen in the White House.

Rand and Ted, beat Huck any which way you look at it.

Those two are still polling neck and neck, with Ben Carson still holding the 3rd spot a ways back.

Huckabee has great ideas with regard to fiscal and tax reform, but the way he's connected to social issues would hurt him at the polls. So, I don't think so.

Both good guys. Not sure that Huckabee is the right person for the right time, and at this stage in his life and in his career not sure that he would even actually want to put up with all the crap involved in the whole process. If he runs I'll be watching him.

Thune is from South Dakota, not Minnesota. Huckabee is completely unelectable.

I would have a hard time voting for Huckabee. He is a big government statist with respect to certain matters, like tobacco use.

No chance. Huckabee is too divisive.

Let me see, he does one, one-hour TV show a week and probably makes good money doing it. He'd have to be nuts.

However:

Fox News may drop famous face from lineup
